On October 21st, 2017, I married the man of my dreams and my best friend. Our wedding day was the happiest day of my life and I want to share all the details with you!
We had a 7 month engagement which I found to be a great amount of time to plan but not too long. Thankfully, my older sister, Jessica, had gotten married a year before me and she and my mom had done most of the hard work of finding vendors and figuring all the details out. My mom is the most amazing wedding planner and she truly made this wedding happen. From the guest list to the parking, she knew what to do and I was so thankful!
I wore my sisters wedding dress and had it re-designed by Hollow to Hem in Birmingham. I loved wearing her dress and my mom’s veil more than anything.
I knew I wanted to have our reception at my parents home in Montgomery, Alabama. My parents built this house when they were first married and we have so many wonderful memories there. I love fall weather, so an October wedding in our front yard was what we did!
We started out by booking our vendors. I knew I wanted several of the same vendors that my sister had used because they were so incredible but I also wanted to change a few and make it my own wedding.
When it comes to florals and details, Southern Posies is the best of the best. Crystal, the owner and designer, is such a joy to work with and she took all of my crazy ideas and brought them to life. Crystal and her team also did our timeline and planning for our wedding day and it was smooth sailing. When I realized I forgot my veil 10 minutes before walking down the aisle, their team had already realized it and sent someone to get it without me even knowing. PRAISE!
I wanted my colors to be soft, elegant and natural. I absolutely loved the florals and I still have my bouquet drying upside down at my parents house.
One of the most important things to me about my wedding day (besides marrying Daniel, of course) was my photographer. I have dreamed about my wedding photos for years and I studied wedding photographers backwards and forwards. I wanted our wedding photos to truly capture our love and the emotions behind our special day. I have loved and admired A Bryan Photo for years because his work is out of this world. It is soft, romantic, and timeless-everything I wanted! Bryan understood my vision and captured our day so perfectly!
My wedding food was something I had literally dreamed about for years. The minute I got engaged, I called Jennie Weller of Jennie Weller Catering. They catered my sisters wedding and I knew they had to do mine as well after I tasted and saw their beautiful creations. I went back and forth about our wedding menu but ultimately decided on foods that were special to me and Daniel and our families.
At our cocktail hour, we had a tower of champagne and Pimms Cups, one of my family’s favorite cocktails!
I wanted our reception to be a culinary experience where our guests could watch the chefs making the food. We had a flatbread station at the cocktail hour where the chef grilled three different types of flatbreads. They also passed out pimento cheese fritters-YUM! We had an oyster station, a beef tenderloin carving station, a pasta station with a big cheese wheel, a taco station, a southern vegetable station, and a beignet station! My dad is from Louisiana and New Orleans is one of my favorite places in the world. Since Daniel is a builder and since my dad loves a good project, I asked them to build an awning for our Café Du Monde inspired beignet station. It was too fun!
We found these little craft paper boats here.
My wedding cake. The thing I had the hardest part deciding. I knew without a shadow of a doubt I was going to use Cake Designs for both of our cakes because they have made my birthday cakes every since I was born. They are a small bakery in Montgomery with the absolute best tasting cakes. I just couldn’t figure out a design that I loved, so naturally I took matters into my own hands… I decided to buy and paint the gumpaste flowers and give them to the bakery to place on the cake. I spent hours delicately painting each flower and leaf with dusting powder. I just have to make everything difficult I guess 🙂
Speaking of difficult, I made my own dessert table and I loved every minute of it. I’ll always remember my sister and I finishing up the last minute desserts the night before my wedding. What special memories.
I made carrot cakes, lemon blackberry cakes, mini apple hand pies, and sugar cookies. My sister, Sarah, made the most delicious chocolate salted caramel macarons. We displayed it all on my sisters beautiful dresser from her room.

The most incredible parents. I hope to be half as great as them one day.
The sweetest friends
My handsome groom
Our ceremony was at First Baptist Church in downtown Montgomery, the church I grew up in. My brother, Weston, played the piano and sang “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” and it was one of my favorite moments because God has been so faithful to us. I walked down the aisle to a bagpipe and it was such a sweet time of worship as we became one!
Our amazing videographer that happens to be Daniels cousin, Hud Productions!!
I love being Daniels wife more than anything and we are so excited for what is to come in 2018!
