I had the incredible opportunity to help Lilly Pulitzer create a dream breakfast spread, make your own mojito bar, and watercolor cookie class for Kate Padgitt of Lonestar Southern. Kate is one of my favorite people EVER and she's getting married in just a few months and decided to have her bachelorette party in Watercolor, FL! It was truly a dream weekend and I loved getting to work with these amazing people!

I'm sharing all the details on how to create a sweet day that is stress-free!

BREAKFAST SPREAD:

When it comes to planning the food for a big party, I love finding ways to make it easier on myself so I can focus on making the whole event special and stress-free. For this breakfast spread, I picked up most of the pastries from my favorite local coffee shop, Black Bear Bread Co. They have the most amazing breads, pastries and desserts that they make fresh every single day and I knew the girls would love it!

We went with an assortment of bagels (plain, everything, cheese and sea salt), cinnamon rolls, an assortment of croissants, and blueberry and strawberry scones.

(Fun fact: I had actually eaten breakfast with Kate last summer at Black Bear and I remembered that she ordered a blueberry scone and loved it so of course I had to order a dozen scones for the bride-to-be!)

I made a big fruit bowl with pineapple, strawberries and blueberries. So easy to put together!

I also picked up some of my favorite juices, Natalie's Orchard Island Juice Company, for mimosas! I went with grapefruit, orange and tangerine so the girls could have fun options with their prosecco. We served them in these Lilly Pulitzer Champagne Glasses.

MAKE YOUR OWN MOJITO BAR:

Lilly-25.jpg

This mojito bar was one of the things I was most excited about! It's such a fun and interactive activity for people to do at parties and events and I love how it brings people together and teaches them how to create something. In my opinion, creating drinks yourself is so much more fun than having someone make them for you!

Mojitos are one of my favorite drinks and a classic mojito has fresh mint, limes, sugar or simple syrup, rum and club soda in it. We used LaCroix instead of traditional club soda which was a bright and fun addition!

I started out by picking several types of fruit that I wanted to display. I went with strawberries, mango, pineapple, grapefruit and of course limes. I washed and cut up all the fruits the night before, put them in the serving bowls and covered them so they would be ready to go the next day.

I found napkins, muddlers, glass bottles for simple syrup, and bought potted mint plants the week or two before. I also gathered all my serving trays and bowls the week before so I could have everything in place.

  • Lilly Pulitzer Glasses-How cute are these??

  • Pineapple Napkins-I found these at a local shop in Seaside called Art of Simple but you can also purchase them hereand here.

  • Wooden Muddler-I ordered 3 of these on Amazon so several people could make a drink at a time.

  • Glass Bottles-I found these at World Market and used them for homemade simple syrup. I used equal parts water and cane sugar (1 cup water, 1 cup cane sugar) and combined it in a sauce pan and brought it to a boil until the sugar dissolved. I put a sprig of fresh rosemary in one bottle and fresh mint leaves in the other to give it a garden-inspired look and taste.

  • Ice Bucket-I borrowed this cute white ice bucket from a friend but you can find a similar onehere.

  • Tray-This just made the table look full and brought it all together. I found mine from Home Goods a year ago but you can find similar trays here, here and here!

WATERCOLOR COOKIE CLASS:

I absolutely LOVE teaching cookie decorating classes. I taught myself how to decorate cookies when I was 14 years old and I have learned a lot along the way. It is so special getting to teach my self-taught tips to others and watch them create something beautiful!

  • Pink Tablecloth- I found this one on amazon and it was the perfect shade of pink (and it was only $11.99)!!

  • Palm Tree Napkins- I found these at Art of Simple but you can purchase them hereand here.

  • Cake Stand-I displayed some decorated cookies for inspiration on this Susan Gordon Pottery cake standwhich is one of my favorites.

  • Parchment Paper- I put one sheet of parchment paper down at each persons staton to keep it clean and neat. Pre-cut parchment paperis my best friend.

  • Sprinkle Cups-Another Home Goods find but you can find similar ones here, here and here.
