Gingerbread Village at the Hilton Sandestin Resort

I had the privilege of going to the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa to view the beautiful gingerbread village that the pastry chef makes each Christmas and it was such a fun day!

They choose a different theme for the gingerbread structure each year and this year the theme was a Candy Wonderland!

This one was mine :)

I originally thought I was going to watch Chef Yasha, the amazing Pastry Chef at the Hilton, in his element but little did I know they were going to let me decorate a gingerbread house to be displayed. Talk about pressure!!

Chef Yasha had a whole spread of gingerbread pieces, icings, candies and so much more ready for me and I was blown away.

When it comes to building a gingerbread house, you have to have a gingerbread base that is super firm and doesn’t easily crack or break. Chef Yasha shared his recipe with us and I can’t wait to make a house out of it!
